The pearls are not actually "alive"! No organization inhabits and it requires no "food". It has been made by an oyster in the same way that a shell is, it is a very long process whose outcome is rarely accurate (mean why the price of some beauties ")...
Without some precautions your pearls will not last thru time, theywill tarnish, bleach or dry until cracks appers. Note that these processes are 98% irreversible.
Our advice ? Some pearls are retraced for centuries and believe me they are perfect. The weather and time had no effect on them. Leave a pearl in a box, a trunk or other location requires certain precautions.
Here is a very simple method used for centuries in natural "fine" pearls in Japan "no jokes." The pearls were immersed in a bath of sesame oil. Some pearls have crossed the centuries, the oldest known pearl was found in a princely tomb in Japan they are about 5000 years old.
- You want to "hibernate" your pearls:
Proceed as our seniors with modern methods, you need a small plastic bag-type "Ziploc" into which you pour a few drops of virgin olive oil, you place your pearl, we inssist 1 single bead by bag (this prevents the pearls collide and scratch) you close. That's it ...
- You wear your pearls: Note that the pearls brought benefit of hydration of people who wear them. A little cleaning (polishing) monthly with a soft cloth and a few drops of virgin olive oil will restore youth in a pearl ... Believe us your pearls will be happy, they gona shine brightly. The only warning about pearls is to never put theme in contact with chemicals ... Some household and body soaps contain anti limestone (pearls are made of calcium carbonate wich is limestone family)... |
